Seriously, Congratulations on your pregnancy and thanks for stopping by.  You know when I had my kids maternity photography wasn't even a thing, my friends and I just had images taken in the lounge room before heading off to the hospital or the delivery room like my first pregnancy! Boy, what I wouldn't do to have some professional portraits to treasure from this time. The good news is - You can! and I've never had a client regret capturing this time.


I get it, you're a little shy, feel like a baby elephant some days and you probably haven't seen your toes in a while but I can guarantee your photo shoot will be fun. I will guide you so you will have natural maternity photos to cherish. Plus I edit your images, by hand myself, to add a little retouching magic.

FAQ - MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY 

When should I schedule my maternity photo shoot?
Maternity photo shoots are best done in the third trimester around 30-36 weeks of your pregnancy. The timing just depends on how round your belly is and how round you would like to be in your maternity photographs, I can guide you based on your sizing.  I find most clients see me when they are 34-36 weeks pregnant. If you are having twins/multiples then I recommend around 28-32 weeks. Whilst I use these "weeks of your pregnancy" as a guide if you have left it to the last minute and are pushing 38-40 weeks please still reach out and we can work together to

What to wear for a maternity shoot - Can I borrow a maternity gown?
Yes, I have a selection of maternity gowns in various colours and sizing to help style your session.  I have sizes ranging from small to extra large. Of coarse it is always a good idea to bring  your own clothing too. I invite all of my clients to visit the studio for their pre photo shoot consultation where we can discuss what to wear further.

What is a pre photoshoot consultation?
I invite all of my clients to book a pre photoshoot consultation at my studio. We can discuss locations, what to wear, pricing and answer any questions you may have in person. You will also have the opportunity to try on maternity gowns from my client wardrobe. This way you can feel comfortable in you choice of maternity gown. Pre shoot consultations are by appointment only and are subject to availability.

Do you work on the weekends?
Yes I work every other weekend/two weekends a month. To avoid dissapointment please contact me as soon as you are in your second trimester as weekend sessions are subject to availability and weekend spaces do fill very quickly.
Complimentary maternity sessions are strictly held Monday-Thursday. If you are interested in a complimentary maternity session please contact me as I only offer a limited number.
 

Where will my maternity photo shoot be held?
You have the choice of choosing a studio photoshoot or an outdoor photoshoot. The location is based on the backdrop you love or where your family likes to spend time relaxing.  Sunset maternity shoots or "golden hour" , as us photographers like to call it, are a stunning way to celebrate your pregnancy and we are lucky to have the beautiful Lake Macquarie as our back drop. Beach maternity shoots are lots of fun and if the water is not too cold then I encourage you to get amongst it for the best candid photos. If you love the bush then maybe a garden park maternity shoot is for you, nature at its finest for a natural maternity shoot.
 

How long will the photo shoot last?
Maternity sessions take approx 1 hour. The time of day depends on the location and availablility. Golden hour is the best time of day for your maternity photography session. This is the hour or two before sunset. If you are not available for Golden hour then I would suggest a morning park session.

Can my partner & children be a part of the photo shoot?
Yes, I encourage your partner & children to be involved. Family maternity photoshoots are a great way to get to get everyone involved in this exciting time, and just between you and me it's also a great way for us to get to know each other better before your newborn session. Maternity & newborn photography is an intimate art and you want to be comfortable with your photographer.

Can my pet dog be a part of the photo shoot?
Yes, some of my clients send “Rex” off to the pet parlour the day of the session so they are nice and fluffy for the photographs.

Do you offer payment plans? 
Yes! I offer lay-by style direct debit payment plans. You are welcome to start a payment plan before your session so you have "some money in the bank" when it comes time to choose your photographs, albums or wall art. You are also welcome to start a payment plan after your session, once you know what you would like to purchase.


Turn around - When will I get my photos?
Your photos will be ready to view 7-14 days after your session. We select your images together at your FREE design & ordering appointment. Your images will be ready to download via a password protected online gallery 7-14 days after you design & ordering appointment. Albums, wall art and products will take approx 4-6 weeks depending on the season.
